Twelve-year-old twins Pearl and Stasha Zamorski escape extermination at Auschwitz, but they are subjected to different horrors. They and other twins are placed in a facility run by Josef Mengele that is referred to as the Zoo. This award-winning novel, despite being about one of the darkest moments in human history, shows the way toward ethereal beauty, moral reckoning, and soaring hope.
Anyone age 18 or older is welcome to attend. The book club meets monthly at the Southwest Branch Library. No registration needed. For more information, please call 407.835.7323 or email southwest@ocls.info
The Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library. Serving the Dr. Phillips and Metrowest communities, Southwest is near International Drive and the attractions. Southwest is a popular place for local adults, children, students and tourists.
