Foamsmithing is the art of creating props and costumes using different types of foam products, and many of the tools needed are available for you to use free with your Library card. Whether for cosplay or movie prop, we'll show you the basic tools and materials you’ll need to get started. Foam comes in all shapes, sizes, densities and prices that will fit your budget. We’ll discuss what software to use and where to find easy, ready-made templates. You'll learn all the steps needed from concept, cutting, assembly and painting. We'll share tips and techniques as you witness the art of foamsmithing up close!

The Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library.
