Hiawassee - Meeting Room

Purl it all together. Create classic stockinette fabric with knit and purl stitches.

Students will knit a stockinette bookmark pattern with the use of knit and purl stitches, as well as a working knowledge of fabric sides.

Required Materials: Yarn has been generously donated for each student to create the class project. All other tools and materials will be provided for the duration of the class.

Optional Materials: Students have the option of using personal materials in class. If you elect to provide your own materials, please bring approximately 10-15 yards of bulky weight (size 5) yarn, size US 10.5 (6.5 mm) knitting needles.

Note: Basic knitting skills (including casting on, the knit stitch, and binding off) are necessary to start this project.

About the branch

LYNX Bus Link 37 Pine Hills / Florida Mall

The Hiawassee Branch began as a bookmobile station in 1962 and was first known as the Pine Hills Library. In later moves the branch became the West Colonial branch and in March 2000, Hiawassee. In early 2010, the Hiawassee Branch moved to a new home near the corner of Hiawassee Road and West Colonial Drive in the Highland Lakes shopping plaza.
