Join the Southwest Book Club to discuss this month's selection News of the World by Paulette Jiles. In the aftermath of the Civil War, an itinerant news reader is offered fifty dollars to bring home an orphan girl, who was kidnapped and raised by Kiowa raiders. Historical fiction that explores the boundaries of family, responsibility, honor, and trust.

The Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library.
