Knit interesting and delicate lace patterns. Learn how to read written and charted patterns for lacework and common lace stitches, while practicing basic knitting techniques.

  • Class Duration: 1.5 hours
  • Age Requirements: 13-Adult, 11-12 with accompanying adult
  • Recommended Prerequisite: Let's Knit Level 2
  • Required Skills: Cast on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch and bind off
  • Materials Fee: None
  • Out of District Fee: $10 (includes class and materials fees)

Note: Basic knitting skills (including casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, and binding off) are necessary to start this project.  New to knitting? Check out Let's Knit Level 1 at www.ocls.info/classes.

The Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The Library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in the Orlando Public Library include Children's, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children's Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Technology and Education Center is located on the second floor and includes the Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
