It's Sew Easy Camp (11-17) - Tote Bags

Take the fashion world by storm! We will teach you everything you need to know to start sewing like a pro.

Learn to sew your own tote bag from start to finish using professional patterns, fabric of your choice and professional sewing machines in this 5-day camp.

  • Age Requirements: 11-17
  • Materials Fee: None
  • Out of District Fee: $65 (includes class and materials fees)
  • Students are required to wear closed-toe shoes to this camp.

This is a 5-day camp. Each session will be 2 hours.

Supported by the City of Orlando Mayor's Matching Grant.

Day 1: Sewing safety and using the sewing machine.

Day 2: Fabric and reading a professional pattern.

Day 3: Sewing seams of tote bags.

Day 4: Finishing raw edges for a professional look.

Day 5: Embellishing your totes with bling.

The Washington Park Branch serves the Carver Shores and Metrowest areas, along with the many other subdivisions and local businesses surrounding it. The Washington Park branch has a history that dates back to 1924. It is a combination of the former Booker T. Washington and Washington Shores Libraries. The two branches combined as one and opened in this current location on April 11, 1984. Although small, the glass walls on the front and back of the building create a bright, airy and comfortable atmosphere.
