An audio visual presentation and panel discussion regarding WMFE's invetigation into TSA at OIA. 6–7 p.m.: Audio-visual presentation 7–8:30 p.m.: Discussion followed by Q&A

After the public suicide of Transportation Security Agency officer Robert Henry, WMFE’s TSA in Turmoil investigation uncovered a pattern of abuse and retaliation among the TSA at Orlando International Airport and at other airports across the country.

Since the investigation came out in August, TSA has initiated suicide prevention training agency wide. The agency said Henry’s death and the ensuing media coverage alerted them to a growing problem – the TSA averages between five and 15 documented employee suicides annually. Based on national statistics, the agency thinks there are 500 unreported suicide attempts.

Join us on Wednesday, January 29, at the Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center (second floor of the Orlando Public Library) for an immersive audio-visual experience based on WMFE reporters Danielle Prieur and Abe Aboraya’s stories on those impacted, followed by a conversation with them and public officials on how to better address this urgent, but little-discussed issue. Light refreshments will be provided.
