In honor of the upcoming release of the latest Star Wars film, make adorable amigurami-style ornaments to use as holiday decorations, backpack hangers or keychains. Choose from Yoda, Princess Leia or Stormtrooper designs, or make more than one! A fun way to practice basic crochet stitches, learn some new techniques and use up those odds and ends of colorful yarn we all have. An experienced instructor will be available to get you started and help along the way. Required Materials: Students must bring the following materials to complete the projects: Small amounts of worsted weight (size 4) yarn in fern green (Yoda) white (Stormtrooper), beige (Leia), medium brown (Leia) and black; size 4.00mm (G) crochet hook; small amount of fiberfill. Recommended Audience: Adult

The Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The Library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in the Orlando Public Library include Children's, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children's Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Technology and Education Center is located on the second floor and includes the Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
