Advanced Level

Learn to make leggings in the first of the Athleisure wear series. Comfortable leggings made to fit you are perfect for the gym, jogging or lounging. Students are required to bring fabric.

Learn to make leggings in the first of the Athleisure wear series. Comfortable leggings made to fit you are perfect for the gym, jogging or lounging. 

  • Class Duration: 3 days, 2.5 hours per day
  • Age Requirements: Adult; for anyone under the age of 18, guardian must sign waiver and accompany the child.
  • Recommended Prerequisite: Sewing: Introduction to the Serger
  • Required Skills: Participants must be able to use a serger/overlock sewing machine
  • Materials Fee: None
  • Out of District Fee: $30 (includes class and materials fees)

We provide the pattern.

Students are required to bring materials:

1 1/4 yards of fabric. 3 yds for directional prints.

FABRICS TYPES: Two or four-way stretch knit fabric with at least 40% stretch.

1 yard of 3/4" wide elastic.

Students must be able to proficiently use a standard sewing machine, use a serger, adjust tension properly, read patterns and cut fabric. Students are required to wear closed-toe shoes to this series.

The Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The Library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in the Orlando Public Library include Children's, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children's Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Technology and Education Center is located on the second floor and includes the Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
