Join us to relax and refresh! Learn about Andy Goldsworthy, a naturalist artist. Take a walk outdoors to hunt for natural materials to create your own nature mandala design. Ages 18+.
Prior to attending this virtual event, please do the following:
1. View the following short video to learn more about nature mandalas:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLz9mTJWwBU
2. Look for natural materials in your backyard or neighborhood to create a nature mandala (i.e. twigs/sticks, stones, leaves, flowers).** Consider doing this either the day before or the morning prior to the event. Nature changes quickly!
**If collecting materials outdoors is difficult for you due to mobility, consider using "natural" items you may have around the house: Examples- decorative stones and moss, seeds, pine cones (from holiday decorations), dried flowers, seashells.
Supplies needed during the event:
*Your collected natural materials.
*A box or any sturdy material or surface to create and use as a background for your nature mandala.
*Optional: A camera to take photo of your mandala to show off your work of nature art with others and for a keepsake photo. A nature mandala is not meant to be kept. Just like nature, it's meant to be transient, short-lived, for the moment.
