Our four day series teaches beginners to apply the techniques behind the art of beautiful watercolours. This class is taught by Melrose Center Fab Lab Instructors.
Celebrate Spring Break with gorgeous watercolour artwork you'll create yourself. These guided tutorials will take students through four projects:
Day 1 - Learn to mix paints and pick up color while creating a quilt block inspired painting
Day 2 - Learn the art of the wash, or wet on dry painting while creating a flower painting
Day 3 - Learn the art of mixing color on paper to create blooms with the wet on wet technique while creating a galaxy painting
Day 4 - Bring all your lessons together in a simple landscape painting
This event occurs online through Zoom. Please provide your email at registration to participate. A device with access to the internet and speakers or headsets are required. The event confirmation/reminder email will contain the Zoom link to attend. If registered for a series, you will receive a separate confirmation email and link for each day. You can also view and join virtual events through attend.ocls.info/myevents.
Recommended Audience: Teens. You must be aged 13-18 to register for this class.
*Please note: You will need the following materials to follow along and create your own artwork at home. These materials will allow participants to paint along with the instructor, but are not required to attend the program:
Recommended: #1 round brush, #5 round brush, watercolour set, watercolour paper, two cups with water
Optional: masking tape, painting board or other flat surface

For FY2020-21 37.2% of the total cost for OCLS equipment, accessories, and services for virtual programs, events, and classes, as well as PPE and STEM Learning Kits ($64,689), is supported by federal money; 62.8% of this project ($109,311) is supported by local money. The total budget for this project is $174,000.
