In this two-part series (March 23 & 30), learn the craft of paper flower making using crepe paper. We will introduce tools and techniques for creating handcrafted paper flowers. This month we are featuring the crepe paper ranunculus.
Day 1, March 23 - Introduce materials, create the center, cut the petals, shape the petals
Day 2, March 30 - Assemble the petals, attach the petals, cut and assemble the leaves
Suggested Materials:
Fine crepe paper (3 colors preferred for center, petals, and leaves) - can substitute other crepe paper if needed, including crepe paper streamers
Floral wire (18 to 20 gauge works best)
Glue (extra strength glue stick, craft glue, tacky glue with a small brush or hot glue)
Scissors
Ruler
Wire cutter (optional if you want to cut your wire to a shorter length)
Floral tape (optional)
Templates for flower pieces (will be sent in the email prior to event)
Recommended audience: Adults
This is a Virtual Event hosted through Zoom. You will receive an email with a link to access the Zoom before the event from your event host. Zoom log-in information will be shared no later than one hour before start of event.
A computer with access to the internet and speakers or headsets are required. A webcam and microphone are suggested to fully participate.

For FY2020-21 37.2% of the total cost for OCLS equipment, accessories, and services for virtual programs, events, and classes, as well as PPE and STEM Learning Kits ($64,689), is supported by federal money; 62.8% of this project ($109,311) is supported by local money. The total budget for this project is $174,000.
