Use the engineering design process to build an observation tower out of paper and tape. Can your tower hold up 15 oz. for one minute? This class is taught by Melrose Center Fab Lab Instructors.
This lesson is based on a real-world challenge of designing an observation tower. Architects will discuss trusses, compression, and beams in a mini-truss building activity. Using this knowledge and the engineering design process, architects will attempt to create a tower that will support 15 oz. for one minute.
