Listen in as experts discuss the tools service members and their families have available to plan and save for their future. How does the military's 2018 blended retirement system work? What sort of VA benefits are available to service members? Even if you served in the military years ago, you may be eligible for valuable grants or interest-free loans created to help veterans and their families deal with COVID-related financial challenges, or transition to civilian life after military service. Where do you go to find more resources for life after leaving the military?
Panelists include:
· Kim Lankford is a Financial Journalist with more than 25 years of experience, specializing in simplifying complex financial topics and providing actionable advice to help people with their personal finances.
· Lt. Col. Patrick Beagle, USMC (Ret) is the owner and President of WealthCrest Financial Services, LLC and a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner who has helped many clients over the past 24 years develop sound financial plans custom-tailored to their individual needs.
· Shay Cook is a member of the FINRA Investor Education Foundation program and a lifetime member of the military community with a background of global travel and expertise in helping service members repair their credit.
· Sierra Mello-Miles is the Director of the Military & Veterans Programs Dept. at Texas Tech University, with a background in helping Veterans utilize burial benefits for themselves and their spouses, who loves working with Veterans and their families.
· Lt. Col. Shane Ostrom, USAF (Ret), CFP® retired from the Air Force in 2000 and is the Program Director for Financial & Benefits Education/Counseling at MOAA, researching and writing articles, answering member inquiries regarding military benefits, health care, survivor issues, and financial concerns, and traveling to discuss these matters with service members, retirees, and their families.
