Create interactive sound systems for games with Wwise! Sound design expert Chase S. demonstrates audio game mechanics from concept to reality. This class is taught by Melrose Center Audio Instructors.
Wwise is an audio middleware program that interfaces with game engines. Similar to a Digital Audio Workstation, with special tools and interfaces, Wwise allows sound designers and musicians to create interactive soundscapes with familiar tools and workflows without the need to learn extensive coding or game engine operations.
In this two-day workshop, we'll demonstrate a range of functionality from basic to advanced. When completed participants should gain an understanding of the audio middleware role and how it can be used for creative purposes not possible in linear media such as film.
Recommended Audience: Adult
Recommended Prerequisite: Familiarity with at least one DAW (such as Pro Tools, Ableton or REAPER), Game Engine (such as Unreal or Unity), or both.
*Please note: Wwise software is recommended but not required to attend. You may download a free copy here!
