Join the Southwest Library for a walk on a paved trail at a local park followed by discussion of The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. A novel about belonging and identity, love and trauma, and nature and renewal. Print, downloadable eBook and audio copies are available for check out from the library.
Please meet at 10:00 AM at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake located at 3401 S. Hiawassee Road, Orlando 32835 in Parking Lot 1. Park Map. Note: there is a nominal admission fee. Please keep your receipt for partial reimbursement. Do not come to the library. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Feel free to bring water and a light snack if you wish. Exercise your mind and body!

The Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library. Serving the Dr. Phillips and Metrowest communities, Southwest is near International Drive and the attractions. Southwest is a popular place for local adults, children, students and tourists.
