Interpretations of Jazz, Great American Songbook, International Cabaret, and Bossa Nova with a Salute to Female Composers.
In honor of Women’s History Month Sonny and Perley present the Great American Songbook, International Cabaret, and Bossa Nova interpreted and performed in their own inimitable artistic style.
This Sonny and Perley concert program highlights selections from the material that Sonny and Perley regularly draw from including Jazz, the Great American Songbook, (The Golden Age of Popular Song 1920's through 1950's) the Great American Songbook - Post Golden Age, (well written, lasting songs from the 1960's through 1980's) International Cabaret, and Bossa Nova (music that originated in Brazil, France and or other Countries written by world acclaimed composers). Sonny and Perley interpret and perform the material in their own inimitable artistic style which incorporates elements of education, history, art, culture, audience engagement, intimacy, and artistic creativity.

The Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The Library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in the Orlando Public Library include Children's, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children's Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Technology and Education Center is located on the second floor and includes the Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
Per CDC guidance, people may choose to mask at any time. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask. Stay home if you are sick or if you have been in close contact with a person with COVID-19.
Any person requiring special accommodations to participate in any class or event due to a disability may arrange for accommodations by contacting the location at which the event is held at least seven days prior to the event.
