Bring a piece of Art Deco history to life with foamsmithing. materials and experience a Glowforge demonstration. This class is taught by FabLab instructors.
Use EVA foam to construct an Art Deco sconce right out of 19(20’/30’s) New York City! Watch as you build the piece layer by layer until it is ready to decorate a space in your home. A small demonstration of the Glowforge laser cutter will be done during the class.
Class Duration: 2 hours
Audience: Teens 15+ and Adults. Participants must be 15+ years of age to register.
Recommended Prerequisite: Foamsmithing Part 1 & 2
Required Skills: Comfortable using high vapor glue, handling a craft knife and wearing a respirator for safety. The build requires use of contact cement, adult supervision and assistance is recommended.

The Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The Library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in the Orlando Public Library include Children's, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children's Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Technology and Education Center is located on the second floor and includes the Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
