Raindrops keep falling....this month we'll embrace April Showers through a stitch pattern of rain drops. We will review basic knit stitches, increases and decreases while creating a beautiful design of knit and purl stitches. Take away a beautiful handmade dishcloth or a square for an afghan project. |
Class Duration: 2 hours
Age Requirements: 13-Adult, 11-12 with accompanying adult
Required Skills: Someone who grasps the most basic stitches and can finish simple patterns with aid.
Materials Fee: None
*Required Materials: Students must bring the following materials to complete the project:
Yarn: 100 yards of worsted weight yarn (medium/size 4)
- Dishcloth: Cotton or cotton blends work best (wool doesn't work well due to moisture absorption)
- Afghan Square: any medium worsted weight yarn
Needles: Size US 8 (5.0 mm) -or- US 7 (4.5 mm)
Note: Knitting skills are necessary to be successful in this class. New to knitting? Check out Let's Knit Level 1.
Level | Description |
Beginner | Someone who grasps the most basic stitches and can finish simple patterns with aid. |
Confident Beginner | Someone who easily handles standard stitches and can follow simple patterns. |
Intermediate | Someone who can follow most patterns with ease, is able to read stitches and charts, and to whom working in the round is no longer a challenge. |
Advanced | Someone who can adjust patterns to their own preferences, substitute yarn, and produce neat results consistently in flat, round, lace, and three-dimensional projects. |
