Learn how to implement VR core concepts like locomotion, hand presence, and player immersion into an interactive VR experience while creating a VR Escape the Room Game.
Part 1: Set up the development environment, create a room and a player game object, and program the player game object's locomotion system to snap rotate, and teleport. To teleport we are going to program the controllers XR Ray Interactors component and create a reticle to indicate the teleportation destination.
Part 2: Use UI game objects to create a VR heads-up display for the purpose of communicating important information to the player as well as a control panel to materialize keys to escape the room. Add another XR Ray Interactor Controller to the player game object for the purpose of interacting with the UI game objects in the scene and activating the keys.
Part 3: Add an XR Direct Interactor Controller to enable interactions with grabbable game objects in the scene as well as add hand presence and increase the immersion of the player into the VR game. Use a Socket Interactor game object to snap the keys to the door's control panel. Program the door's control panel to open the door when the keys are inserted.
