Contribute your talents to the annual Yarnfiti Community Art Project. Join us in crafting a fantastical garden out of yarn.
The Yarnfiti Community Arts Project is a collaborative event where individuals contribute pieces to the overall project. This year's installation will be unveiled at the Fall Fiber Festival on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 2 p.m.
Required Materials: Students must bring the following materials to complete the project:
Note: This project is not gauge specific, feel free to bring your favorite yarn with needles two sizes smaller than indicated for the yarn's weight.
Note: Basic knitting skills (including casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, and binding off) are necessary to start this project. New to knitting? Check out our beginning Knit It series of knitting classes: www.ocls.info/classes.
The Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library. Serving the Dr. Phillips and Metrowest communities, Southwest is near International Drive and the attractions. Southwest is a popular place for local adults, children, students and tourists.
