The Improv Comedy Basics class introduces students to the foundational skills needed to create scenes from nothing more than a suggestion from the audience. Through carefully picked exercises, students will explore the skills and concepts needed to bring ideas to life, including Yes-Anding, making & accepting offers, active listening, teamwork, and finding your version of "Stage Weird". Join our next class so you can explore the building blocks of Improv, and learn the magic of creating something from nothing in a safe, supportive setting that celebrates failure.
The Basics of Improv is a 2-hour workshop improv class that will help you take your first steps into the world of improvisation. The course will help you learn the fundamental tools of improv through engaging exercises and group gameplay designed to bolster your soft skills (agreement, active listening, being supportive, etc.) and lay the foundation that will allow you to create without self-judgment. Level 1 provides a safe environment to explore your creative potential and experience the freedom and joy of improvisational play. The class is the perfect starting place for those with zero improv experience or for those wanting to refresh their improv fundamentals.

The Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The Library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in the Orlando Public Library include Children's, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children's Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Technology and Education Center is located on the second floor and includes the Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
