Celebrate OCLS's 100th birthday by knitting the decades with us. This month's featured pattern is the customizable Izzy Doll. Learn how to knit in the round using DPNs and add details like ruffles.

This class is a series, held on Tuesdays, May 2 & May 23, and June 23 2023.

Learn how to knit Esther Braithwaite Designs' customizable Izzy dolls. Customize the doll using various outfits and hairstyles to make it your own.

      • Class Duration: 2 parts, 1.75 hours per part
      • Age Requirements: 13-Adult, 11-12 with accompanying adult
      • Recommended Prerequisite: Let's Knit Level 1 & 2
      • Required Skills: Cast on, knit, bind off
      • Materials Fee: None

Materials (Instructor will email a a link to the pattern and finalized materials list prior to the class date). 

      • Up to size 4 worsted weight yarn can be used (for example fingering, sock, DK, or worsted)  
        25g of yarn for the shoes
        25g of yarn for the socks
        25g of yarn for the skin color (for the head, arms, legs)
        25g of yarn for the outfit
        25g of yarn for the hair
        scrap yarn for embroidering features
      • set of four double pointed needles 2 sizes smaller than the recommended needle size on the yarn band *note, the pattern has a straight knitting needle option also.
      • darning needle
      • scissors

About the branch

The Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library. Serving the Dr. Phillips and Metrowest communities, Southwest is near International Drive and the attractions. Southwest is a popular place for local adults, children, students and tourists.
